I have a question. My sister & I have started the protocol, but we are kind of confused. If we do the 100g of meat, a handful of a veggie & a handful of strawberries, or an apple, there is no way we are getting 500 calories. We have weighed & calculated calories for everything, & i'm afraid we are doing something wrong. Here is an example of our 1st day VLCD-  No breakfast, just water & green tea. Lunch- 100g chicken breast 100cal, 7oz cucumber-30 cal. 8oz apple 130 cal.  Dinner- 100g shrimp-100cal. 85g spinich 20cal & 12oz strawberries- 109 cal. Total calories is 489.  I feel like we might be doing to much on the fruit, but it is the easiest way to get the calories up where we need them. I plan on adding the melba toast as soon as I can find some, ever store in town is out, but until then, is this ok?

I never did get 500 cal. every day and lost 35 lbs.  as long as you do not go over  you should be ok.
