Should I Stop Earlier Than Planned?

I've been doing the Simeons diet for 27 days and have lost 27 pounds (254-227). I planned to go 40 days and get down to 215-220 which I could easily do if I go the full 40 days, but we just booked an unexpected trip to Hawaii and we leave in 13 days. I am going to enjoy the food in Hawaii (in moderation), that is not the question. The question is should I start the next phase now and begin to wean myself off the diet so I don't go to Hawaii the day I'm done and shock my body? I'm concerned that I'm going to gain a lot back a lot faster if I hold out, but I also want to get closer to my goal weight.
What do you think I should do?
P.S. I do have a good after-Hawaii plan to keep the weight off; I just want to be in the best position possible at that point.

I don't log on enough, so you're probably in Hawaii by now. I hope you had a great trip and that whatever you decided to do worked out for you!
