Hi, First of all, sorry for the long post.
I am new to HCG injections and to the HCG diet. I just wanted to introduce myself and ask a question.
I am 29 y/o male 5'8'' medium frame and 170 pounds. I have been doing resistance training with a personal trainer, 2 x week for the past 5 months and I have been running 3 times a week for the past 10 weeks (currently running ~12 miles/week). I have lost approximately 8 pounds and 1 inch off my waist in the last 5 months. Granted, I have not been as consistent with my diet for the entire time period, but in the last 3 months I have been eating very clean and keeping at or just under 1500 calories. I have been basically following the usual philosophy of eat less and exercise. At first, I was loosing about a pound a week, but it soon slowed down to about 0.5 pounds a week and I am now stuck. I bet that some of the weight loss that I am not seeing in the scale is due to gains in lean muscle mass. I have a set of calipers and I have measured my BF% at 21% and it hasn't changed in the time I have been working out. I still have a lot of fat in my abdomen and thighs. I would like to loose 15 pounds and get within the healthy range for my height and frame, which is 145-157 pounds.
I have been doing research for some time and I have decided to give HCG injections/diet a try. I got my supplies and I am ready to start this Sunday. I will do the 26 day protocol. I have taken before pictures and body measurements. Also, I have been meaning to get hydrostatic body composition testing for a while now, because it is the most accurate way of measuring BF% and given that my calipers show no change, I am just going to give it a try. I will get the body composition measurements this Saturday. I want to see how my body composition changes after this protocol.
I am doing the protocol under the guidance of a local clinic/MD, but I have a question for you guys/gals. The doctor said that I should avoid intense cardiovascular exercise and that I should discontinue my running. He said that weight training was fine, but that he has noted that patients that continue cardiovascular exercise tend to loose less pounds and inches.
Thanks in advance, Astacun
