Huh Another question because I am about to start phase 2 again and well honestly I just can't afford to buy all my foods organic right now.  has anyone had decent results just eating very lean meat, regular apples, lettus ??  would like to know how this may affect me if I choose not to spend the extra money on organic foods.
I know it is an important part of the protocal, but for single moms on a strict budget I just don't know how to make it work??   Advise greatly appreciated.

Just try to get the best quality you can. If you peel your non-organic apples, it will be quite acceptable. For tomatoes, you can get pesticide free (not organic, but close) very affordably at wherehouse stores like Costco. Lettuce, meat, milk and eggs are the only things that I feel quite strongly should be organic as much as possible. Sometimes, because of economic or availabitlity reasons, it's just not possible though...so you just have to make do with what you can. This is my philosophy and so I didn't always have 100% organic. Most others also didn't and had great results.

I don't know about you guys, but I wash my semi "non-porous" fruit with soap and water before I eat or cook them.  This includes apples, peaches, pears, tomatoes and pototoes.  God knows where it's been or what has touched it before it got into my refrig.

I wonder if that constitutes "semi-organic"  Grin

I think that all of our bodies are unique in how the pesticides weigh on our internal organs and our bodies in different ways. As for me personally Organic foods have made a huge difference. My organs to begin with were weakened and the pesticides only taxed them more with the toxins that are in them. My body did not process the overload of toxins well. So I live 100% Organic as recommended with the Hcg diet. I have found that I do not spend that much more but I customize my eating habits for what is in season and what is on sale and my grocery bill is only approx. $20.00 more than the non-organic. It is really a personal preference I feel and it depends on the overall health of your body before starting the Hcg diet.
