PHASE 3 questions....

I know that you are not allowed to eat starches and sugar.  What I would like to know is if you are allowed to eat any kind of vegetable just as long as it falls under the low carb no starch category. Fruit...yes, I know fruit is loaded with natural sugar...are we allowed to eat low sugar fruits?

PLEASE HELP!!

THANKS

Yes eat all the non starchy veggies you want and eat all kinds of low sugar fruit. Probably you need to limit your fruit servings according to what happens on the scale.

Great!!  Thanks Kathy.  Once again, I'm so confused.  Dr. Simeons doesn't go into great detail about phase 3.  I did purchase KT's book and he explains a little more.  I was also a little confused about the carbs still.  I know you're to watch your starch/carb intake...none at all, then again he says not to worry about calories, fat, carbs, or sodium.  With that all said, do I just not worry about the carb in veggies, fruit, dairy products, ect?  Sorry...I have so many questions.

Yes, you still need to be aware of carbs and sugar-that's why I said limit your fruit. That goes for dairy as well. Read the Atkins diet revolution, in the maintenence phase you actually can have alot of naturally occuring carbs by gradually adding them to your diet until you find the level where you start to gain. You can convert this to your phase 3 by omiting all breads, sugars and starches and seeing how much dairy and fruit you can add.

These are the only recommended vegaetables I have not found others that can be added but of course if you want to experiment that is a personal preferrance. I think it would depend on how much weight you have already lost and how much more you want to lose. I followed the protocol to a T because I wanted to reach my weight loss goal in a set amount of time. If you stray away from the recommend vegetables I would just watch my serving size closely and I would also monitor how it affects you....sugar level, energy etc and I would also monitor if I gained or lost more weight.

The recommended vegetables on the protocol that I followed are these: Asparagus, Beet-greens, Cabbage, Celery, Chard, Chicory, Cucumbers, Fennel, Green Salad, Onions, Radishes, Spinach, and Tomatoes.

I also purchased both of the Hcg Cookbooks that are available because I tend to get bored with what I am eating and those 2 books have helped me tremendously too. To all your weight loss success!
