How's it going out there? I have decided that I am going to use this website to show a guy's perspective on the HCG diet. I just started my injections yesterday, which means I will be starting the 500 calorie protocol on Thursday (dun.. dun.. dun..). But, I think I am well disciplined and shouldn't have a problem. I quit smoking cold turkey last February after nine years, so I can win this battle too. I may be in a different spot than some. I am a 28 year old father of a 15 month old little princess. I am engaged to a beautiful woman whom I will marry in October. I have always excelled athletically and have used my size as an advantage. I have a strong muscular frame, but have always just had a few extra pounds tagging along. I have always spent time in the gym working to get "buff". But, in the last few years, I have changed. I am looking for a healthier life and a healthier body, I am not so worried about being a muscleman any more. I see this program as a stepping stone.......to a more disciplined life at the dinner table. Lord knows I like the sweets. It's go time. I am 5' 11" and weigh in at 225. My waist line is at 36". My goals are to get to 175 pounds and have a 33" waist line. This is reflected in my ticker below. I plan on giving some regular updates on my progress, some before pictures, any info on side effects I may run into, etc.......so........STAY TUNED. Watch out, don't get in my way! LOL (http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wEfkX3G/)

Good for you! It will be really good to have a man's perspective. Especially since I would like my husband to try it, but I know he's still scared about "growing breasts" or something. Anyway, you'll probably be really surprised how much the HCG makes the 500 not bad at all. The choices get a little boring after a while, but because the results are so dramatic and frequent, it's the first program I have stayed totally devoted to, and I'm down 20.5 lbs with 13 more to go. Good luck!

Well here we go. I am now on day 3, last day of loading. I took my third shot this morning. Thankfully, my fiance is an RN and gives me the shot each morning in my rear. I have not really noticed side effects as of yet. Maybe just feeling a little "out of it", but that just maybe a mental thing. Here are my weigh-in weights so far before starting on the diet.
Day 1 (loading)- 225 Day 2 (loading)- 226.3 Day 3 (loading, today)- 227.6

I have also attached pics on my "physique" to start LOL. I didn't realize how bad I have let myself go until I just looked at these pics. But, things are about to change.
Oh, and check out the sweet farmer tan.

Well....Day 4, I received my shot this morning and am starting the diet. Needless to say, my coffee isn't quite as enjoyable when it's black. But, I am in it to win it. I am hard headed, so I am going to go ahead and apply that trait to this diet and my goals of losing some weight and inches. Day 4- 228.2, it's all downhill from here, and I am referring to my weight.

Day 5- 224.6 Guest I almost lost 4 pounds overnight, which I am happy to see. I am not going to lie, I got pretty hungry at times yesterday. But, I am feeling a little better about the diet today. I am, obviously, a big guy and am used to eating a lot, so it is going to take some time to adjust to. But onward we go, I will post again on Monday to keep you updated and to let you know how my weekend went. I am going to a buddy's wedding reception on Saturday night, gonna be tought not to take part in a tasty cerveza.

UPDATE!
Well, it turned out to be an interesting weekend to say the least. I can tell you that I now know first had what a little bit of cheating will do with your progress.
Day 6- 222.4 Day 7- 222.4 Day 8- 222.2
I woke up Saturday having lost a couple pounds, which was nice to see. Then, Saturday I attended a BBQ. I have some chips, potato salad and a roll to go with my BBQ beef. Well, it turns out the scale knew I cheated on Sunday Morning. Sunday was my day off from injection. Woke up today and had lost 2 ounces since yesterday. Oh well, I am punishing myself with an apple day today. I will keep you posted.

I am starting to not get so hungry during the day. But I think it was as much mental as is was physical hunger. Most of the fight is mental, that is for sure. But, still good to go.
Day 10- 219.8

Well, needless to say I have hit what I am going to refer to as a "mini plateau." I have not really cheated as far as the protocol is concerned. I may need to just really pay attention to my portions. But I am thinking I will come out of it soon. But, I did lose .8 from yesterday to today's weigh-in.

Hi JT! I think you're doin great! It's nice to hear a man's perspective on the protocol, and thank you for being so open and honest. it seemed for a day there you were at a bit of a stall, but then you almost lost a full pound the next day, that, to me, is success. If this happens again, you could do an "Apple Day," which is basically a day when all you eat is 6 apples with only as much water to "quench your thirst." I did this when I was at a stall and it really jump-started my weight-loss, and if it doesn't, which is unusual, the stall could be due to a dietary error. I recommend looking at any loss as progress, which can be so hard, trust me i know, because you've invested so much in this: time, money!, energy, plus a lot of ppl keep this a secret from their families as well which can be stressful... Anyways I just wanted to say hi and that I think you're doin great! p.s. u probably already have figured this out but it really helps a lot if you get new digital bathroom and kitchen scales to help you keep track of exactly how much you're eating, and how much you're losing. Best of luck!

BTW, if the apple day doesn't work for you, try it again with the 2 liters of water, all of your teas (especially the smooth move at night) and some fiber in the morning. A couple of us found that that made all the difference in the success of our "apple days".

I am 38 yrs old and also a male. I wanted to share my results. I haven't grown any man boobs, at least they haven't gotten any bigger only smaller. I was 212.6 on the 3 days of gorge and I am in my 28th day and have lost 21 lbs. I haven't experienced the kind of weight loss that other men have. I have a brother in law that just finished his 45 days and lost almost 60 lbs. The best thing for me is that I am a diabetic and now I am off my meds. I don't take insulin just oral meds, but I am off three meds. My fasting blood sugars are between 85 and 100. Occasionally, I hit 110, especially if I eat fruit before bedtime. I noticed that the last several days I have been more hungry and have cheated a bit. I will lose 10 more pounds before I am off the shots. I would have your husband, the one who thinks he will grow man boobs start this. Having extra weight is the partially the cause for so many health issues. I know that I have lost about 2 inches in my waist. For a diabetic that is phenomenal. This protocol will be what I turn to if I gain because I don't ever want to go back on my diabetic meds. That to me is the miracle of the diet.

I am another 38 year old male doing the do here. I am doing the protocol with my 59 year old father.
Started shots and gorge on July 6th gaining 3 pounds to weigh 233.6 (i'm 6'1") in the process. This morning, I was 219.4 (11 pounds net) in 13 days. I had a migraine on the first VLCD day and ended up in the Emergency Room. No dinner, no meal nor shot on day 4 and a grilled cheese sandwich late that night.
Other than that, I have NOT varied from the VLCD one morsel. My only vice is a Diet Rockstar (20 cal and 0 sugar/carbs) in the morning. I dont drink coffee or non herbal tea.
I am very pleased with the results and am hoping for 20 pounds in the first cycle. Shouldnt be a problem given the results so far.
What I am wondering, is should I extend the cycle for another 23 days? I am doing well and think I might, but was wanting to know what to expect if I do that.
I am SURPRISINGLY not nearly as hungry as I expected I might be.
