I am trying to do some research about HCG and I have read I think all there is out there. Does anyone here have any words of wisdom for me? Does it really work as well as everyone says? And is it weird to stick a needle in your skin? Also, is the diet 500 calories? I think clinically anorexic is around 700 calories a day. I am not saying it's wrong, but is it too hard to stick to longer than a day or two? Any advice? Jessica

Hi Jessica,
Welcome to the forum. Yes, I think it works very well. Yes the needle is a little scary until you get the first one over with. Yes the diet is 500 calories. I have been on the VLCD (very low calorie diet) for 4 days now, and I am still alive, and a few pounds lighter, I might add:-). So have you read Dr Simeon's Manuscript? www.hcgweight.com/docs/Pounds_and_Inches.pdf, and Kevin Trudeau's "The Weight Loss Cure They Don't Want You To Know About"? Those are the best places to start, and they tell you all about how and why you can safely eat only 500 calories a day. If you read back into this forum, there is also a wealth of information, and a lot of people eager to help you however they can. I hope this helps. Later, Toni

Hi Jessica, Welcome to the forum, I've only been here for a week myself. I started my weight loss journey about 2 years ago, in the middles somewhere I found the book " The Weight Loss Cure" by Kevin Treudeau. When I got that book for the next 9 months I started incorporating the tecniques suggested. Took time and was a mind shift. However the results speak for themselves. I lost 30 pounds on phase one of the protocol without dieting at all. Just changing what I eat and the other things in the book.
I noticed I seemed stuck about in July and started using Almased which is the other suggested product in the book if you can't get hcg. I did lose more weight, however you are allowed no food for 14 days and that was hard for me. I did that twice. I also noticed the second round that I regained a lot of weight.
A dear friend introduced me to the site of hcg, which I had wanted to do anyway, I just didn't think you could get it in the U.S., This is my first week on the shot and I've lost 8.3 including my load weight. So I can say it is working well for me. Read all the testimonies and results its amazing.
The shots for me was very scary and I've never given myself a shot and was horrified. Once I did it once though it was like "oh this isn't so bad, after all". I liked it better then someone else giving me one. So if I can do it anyone can.
You do need to get the book and read it first so you fully understand the concepts and phases.
Good luck, Kelly

Jessica,
Might I add that not only did Kellygirl lose 8.3 lbs. but she's one of the ones who doesn't have far to go - only about 20 more or so if I'm not mistaken. Those who need to lose more sometimes lose even faster!
Kelly - you are making fantastic progress and it is great to see how you've integrated yourself so well in this forum!

Jessica, Welcome to the forum. I started this program Jan 4 and I am very happy I did. For the past 10 years of my life I had issues with my weight. I did a lot of diets and it was never is good as this. I am only 16 days in to it but my body had changed already. Last year I went down to 128lb with diet(starving) and exercise(vac to Mexico), my waist got to 28 inches. This morning my waist is at 27 inches and I am just 16 days in to it. This is a great program and you will love it. You will find a lot of support on this forum. Lila

Kelly,
Yes I am a snoop! I've always been curious by nature so it serves me well in my job as well as at home. My family and friends always know they can count on me to find out or research things for them.
Don't sweat the 3 Lays. We all have weak moments and if you can stop yourself in time it shouldn't make a difference. Believe me, I'm surrounded by temptations and sometimes they win but most of the time I am pretty dedicated.
Keep up the good work over the weekend!
Carla

Jessica, Hi and Welcome, In regard to the 500 calorie issue, you must remember that when you have been taking HCG injections for 3 days, your body begins to release 2,000 calories from your own abnormal fat reserves into your bloodstream for your use. So, you are really getting 2,500 calories per day when combining the injections with the VLCD. Good Luck. Kathy

Thanks everyone. I can't believe how many people are on this site alone. It's great how supportive you all are. I am going to order tomorrow, I had to wait for the funds to become available.
I will post again if I have any anxieties, as I am sure I will.
