Does anyone know which is best to use for a bad headache?  Tylenol or Asprin, or something else... I can not get rid of these headaches, and they're killing me!!
I can't lay down and nap, as I have a house full of children all the time!

Lori, The first choice is green tea, then try regular aspirin. If neither or both of those don't work, I'm all for just using whatever will work: Advil, Tylenol, narcotics.... Just kidding about the narcotics.  Wink But seriously, don't suffer, use what works to get rid of that headache ASAP. Kathy

For your headache--Make a L with your left hand--your point finger and thumb--Take your right hand point finger and thumb and PINCH between the webby part on your left hand and hold as long as you can-1 minute or so and the pain will really go away-If it comes back after release-Do it again---accupressure points-It does depend on what kind of headache but this usually helps mine.
Brenda
And another Good thing--Take 3 DEEP breaths=breath in as much as possible then SLOWLY let it out--3 times--You need some oxygen up there-Try it-It wont hurt ya!

Good advice on the accupressure brenda - it really does work. You can also do pressure with both thumbs on both sides at the base of your skull - that works too depending on where your headache is.
I use to get really bad migraines - then I got rid of my husband and suprisingly the migraines resolved!
What kind of headaches are you having Lori?

I get migraines regularly.... it seems to be my whole head that throbs...I can't really pinpoint where the pain is coming from.....
Maybe I just stress too much.... 6 kids will do that to ya (I have two of my own and I watch 4 during the day)....and then the shock of this diet....I'm sure its everything combined!... I just took 3 asprin and drank a cup of green tea, so lets hope that kills it before morning comes!!  I did try the hand thing...didn't do anything for me...maybe I'm doing it wrong?
Anyways, thanks to everyone for the advice....
I've truely never met a better group of people...complete strangers helping eachother so much, and going out of their way to help someone else!
Thanks a thousand!

Depends on the underlying issue of why the headache is really there if you want to get rid of them vs. temporarily tricking the body.

Most people assume that what we consume (water included) is absorbed and utilized by the body.  Not the case unfortunately.  The cell membranes need to be healthy to make this process easy as absorption is an active process, not passive.  Most people do not have healthy  cell membranes from Omega-3 deficiencies.  Yet that is not a quick fix or a current option if taking the shots.

I find that putting a charge to water with the positive end of a magnet helps to increase the absorption of water into my cells.  And since most non-migraine headaches have a dehydration component, this might help you.

Be well.  Tim

Forgot to mention that we can have migraine-like headaches.  True migraines usually put people down and out (non-functioning with noisy kids).  if true migraine, look to the endocrine system.

Tim, I have read about charging water. What kind of magnets do you use, how affordable are they and where can I find them? Kathy

Hey honey, were you able to keep going without interuption? If not, maybe that's part of the problem. I've had a few real bad ones but took 2 advil and they went away. I too get migraines but I find that if I catch it in time I'm ok. So I wasn't willing to take any chances, as I know advil really works for me. It didn't seem to make a difference...down 4 lbs in 3 days VLCD...still amazed!  Kiss

thistime,
yes I was able to find someone to help me out on that other forum so I don't have to stop and wait for mine to get here....
as far as my headaches go....I have had issues with migraines since highschool.... I get a tru migraine at least once a month (I am not able to move!...I lay still in a dark room and pray that the pain goes away soon!)
but I get headaches almost on a daily basis...I used to take excedrin migraine like candy and after a while even that did nothing for me...but they do seem to be getting better...I always just get scared when I feel a headache coming on, because if I don't get a handle on it right away, then it does turn into a full blown migraine...I get them so bad to the point I am incapacitated, and nauceous...its aweful!...
Anyways...thanks all for your help and support!
My hubby was home last night and gave me some "specail treatment"...helped with my headache!!

Lori, I used to get an almost migraine about once a month around my TOM. If I catch it in time, I can avoid incapacitation. If it becomes full blown, the only thing I can do is take 4 advil and put an ice pack behind my neck and lay down in a dark and quiet room. A drug that works is called fioricet, but it's expensive and I don't like to take precription drugs. I have reduced the incidence of this happening to me alot since I started eating organic and doing cleanses. Hope you felt much better today. kathy
