Hi everyone,
I've just read Kevin's book and am getting ready to begin phase one. Do you know if anyone using HCG is using prescription drugs at the same time? I take levothyroxine and harmones. Could this diet work for me?

I don't know, hopefully Romanad will check this post and answer this, you can also email Sharon Green the moderator and contact for this site; she might know if anyone has used the same combo before.

Hi LaRay,
I'm not sure it you are male or female, but if you are a female, just think, if you would continue your medications if you became pregnant? Most likely the answer would be yes. Plus, It is a very, very small dose of HCg compared to a pregnant woman's harmones.
I have noticed that very few people, mostly men, have a reaction to the HCg and that few have been on heart meds, high blood preasure meds, or a large amount of different meds taken together. And that percentage of reactions is less than 1 % of all users.
Be at ease, the odds are in your favor....

Ramonad,
In your opinion, is it crucial to pull on the plunger before injecting to check for blood? I will be using the insulin needles, injecting either in my thigh or stomache.
Also, has anyone seen a difference in results whether injecting in stomache or thigh?
Thank you. Toni

Hi tori,
It is not crucial to pull back on the plunger before injecting if you are injecting into fat or superficial muscle. An insulin needle, unless you have very skinny thighs, would only hit the very top layer of muscle in your thigh.
Only needles that are 1 inch or over would go deep into the muscle and would need to be pulled back on to see if it has been put in a vain...

Ramonad..... My next round I will be using needles that are over 1 inch long... do I need to pull back on the plunger? if so, how does that work? what should it do if it is in the right place, and what do I not want it to do?

Hi all,
Has everybody been skipping one day a week of injections on this protocol? It sounds like the reason for this is so you have less chance of becoming immune to the HCG. I will be doing 2-23 day rounds, and I don't want to compromise my potential progress in any way. Please advise. Later, Toni

Ramonad,
I take Diovan W/HCTZ 160/12.5 to control my blood pressure. I am hoping that with weight loss, my blood pressure will regulate, but for now I need the meds. Will the diuretic in my meds hinder my results? I think I read either in the manuscript or KT's book not to take a diuretic. There's not much I can do about it, I guess unless I want to switch meds, but the Diovan works for me. I guess I should just try and see what happens. Did I just answer my own question??? Later, Toni

Hey Toni, I wanted to respond to your question about if anyone has skipped the one day a week during the injections. I didn't, but...I had a major stall around my period, ended up stopping the injections until my period stopped but continued to stay at the same weight without any loss for a very very long time after I resumed my injections. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Personally, for my next round I'm going to skip the one day a week. I belive I am one of those people who grow immune to just about everything like right asap......loosing weight too. I was going to continue with the second round straight through but after I saw that I lost only 3lbs over 9 days I figured I would go into phase 3 for 3 weeks and than resume phase 2 to break things up a bit. I would gauge what's happening with your weight loss. If you start to see a stall, than maybe consider not injecting the one day a week. I think this result is going to be different for everyone. Good luck! Lisa

Hey Lisa,
Thanks for the info. I won't have a TOM to worry about, but I am going to be doing the 2-23 day rounds, so I think it would be wise of me to skip the one day a week. Thanks for your help. Toni

Carpetfrog,
If you need to be on that medication then there really isn't a question that you should keep taking it. Your loss may be slower but nothing is certain. You might ask your doctor in the meantime if there is a natural alternative to help with your arthritis. Also, if you google natural arthritis remedies you'll find a bunch. I've never suffered from arthritis so I don't know your specific situation but if I did I would be willing to try something more natural than prednisone which contains steroids. Just a suggestion!
