Hello, all:
I have been taking 125 IU's of HCG for the past eleven days. FYI, I am a 52 year-old female without a menses for well over a year. Well, today that changed!!! I am beginning my cycle, with symptoms of having a period!! This gives new meaning to the "dead being brought back to life!" Is this usual? Has anyone else expereinced this type of effect? Do I continue on the HCG? Will it last?
STUNNED!!

Hello Queen,
Yes, my TOM returned after about 2 years of being peri-mens (hot flashes & 2-3 periods a year). But my return was triggered during phase 1 -- organics, cleansing detoxing & walking phase - long before I started the HCG injections.
Please read Dr. Simeons Pounds & Inches -- he does suggest stopping injections during TOM. I just completed 13 days, am down 14 lbs. and took 3 days off of injections for TOM. I felt good during TOM and was able to stay on VLCD without any problems. (I did do phase 1 for 2+ months which might also be helping with my ease during phase 2.)
Again, read Pounds & Inches -- it makes things so much clearer. Dr. Simeons found that keeping the weight off is easier in phase 3 & 4 for women who are NOT menapausal. So I'm hoping the "return to life" continues for awhile! http://www.hcgweight.com/docs/Pounds_and_Inches.pdf

Hi, there:
Thanks for your reply. It relieved a lot of my concern.
I did read the Seimons Protocol and I stopped injecting on Saturday; won't resume until Tuesday; and continuing on the low calorie diet. Are you now experiencing a monthly TOM? Does it last longer than three days? Even though I saw the first sign on Wednesday, I did not stop injecting until Sat. However, my TOM is definitely present and I do not know when it will leave, but I assume I continue injecting after stopping these three days. If I were to stop completely, I think I am to go to a higher calorie diet. I read the Protocol, but some things were not as clear as others. If you do not mind, I would like to know your interrpretation.
I am soo glad someone out there has gone through what I am now experiencing. I don't want to undo any of my weight loss after finally finding something that is promising after all of these years.
I agree, having a TOM surely should only help with maintainence when all is said and done!
Thanks, again!

Hello Again Queen,
Yes, I am now monthly -- lasts about 3-4 days. I stopped injections for 3 days and did not experience any hunger problems. Of course if I had been off the injections longer I might have had hunger once the hcg left my system? Some people do and some people don't.
It is not uncommon for TOM to last a long time and phase in and out for those who are perimenapausal -- if that was happening to me I would just continue with the injections and protocol as long as I was feeling good. If I was on injections and still felt hungry, tired then I would think the HCG wasn't working and then I might consider stopping because the HCG was ineffective and I would not want to continue at 500 calories.
I have been reading other forums and some are not stopping injections during menses -- while some folks do not lose during TOM some are so . . . everyone has to see what works for them. I say listen to your body -- stop injections during the heaviest 3-4 days and then continue injections as long as you feel good.

Thanks, a lot!
Your information is invaluable.
FYI, I have continued to lose during TOM. Today (third day without injecting), I still feel great, but am experiencing a faint hunger. Not enough at this point to stop the diet. By tonight, I'm sure the hunger will grow, but I am determined to get through the night. I can't wait until tomorrow--I WILL inject!
You are such a motivator!

Hang in there Queen It is Worth It!
A couple things that work for me if I feel a bit of hunger -- tea, tea & more tea. Add lemon to my water -- w/1/4 pack of Stevia. Love the STEVIA sweetner with vanilla in my teas too. I have also done the Callahgan technique outlined in Kevin Trudeaus book. It seems a bit hard to believe but the tap tap tapping worked for me so I continue to do it. Much better than reaching for food.
One other thing that I am absolutely loving is the MIGUN thermal massage bed, w/infrared heat/lights etc. If there is a MIGUN center near you that allows 30-90 days free use you might find it beneficial. It stimulates the blood flow and toxin release. You might find success with it too. I go everyday -- and do lots of visualization of me at my goal weight. Hard to remember what that looked like or felt like -- but I am literally melting away, and feeling so so so great. Energy, positive attitude and happy happy happy.
Good luck Queen.

Mama - you ARE just losin it!
Congrats on your fantastic progress~ I had never heard of MIGUN before your post so of course I had to go google it. It sounds very beneficial. What do you wear and how long are your sessions? I noticed there are some places here in Orlando and I'm definitely interested in checking them out.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hello,
When I lived in Silver Spring, MD, I was introduced to what they called, "Going to the Beds." The Beds are really awesome, especially the ones with the Jade Stone. "The Beds" have a healing power for all sorts of aliments. A friend was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and refused all traditional treatment. He had made his mind up to return home and "Die." His sister introduced him to The Beds. He went to The Bed five days a week for about six months and drank one of those natural fruit juices (something beginning with the letter "M"). End result, his PSA levels are almost nil--and he's doing great! The doctors thought he had taken medicine. So, I know first hand what the Bed can do.
Thanks Mama for reminding me about The Beds. Since I am only 15 miles away from Charlotte, NC, I shall start looking.
Continue to melt away!

Hello BeeOrlando (Carla),
I've been reading all your posts -- so informative and I really appreciate the attitude, info & support you bring to the group!
Now to the MIGUN bed -- 8 different programs running from 35 minutes to 15 minutes to target different issues/areas. You just wear normal clothes. Drink lots of water etc. They also have these mats that have the jade tones and themal heat -- absolutely amazing. (Queen mentioned them.) Immediately upon laying down I felt calm, relaxed -- you know that feeling you get when lying on the beach with warm sand -- but much better. One women at the center I go to has lost 34lbs. in 3 months -- she says its the beds & water. Great stress reducer. As you can tell I'm sold on this product -- I will be purchasing one for my home. By the way--my center encourages you to come in every day for as long as you want to experience the benefits. No sales pressure -- just info for the asking.
Good luck & let us know what you think after using a few times.

Mama,
Thanks so much for all the info. I have had chronic pain in my neck for the last few years but I don't have time to go to the chiropractor and after reading about the beds I bet they will help! I'm also excited that they use infrared heat as it has been proven to help you lose weight. I only wish I had room for an infrared sauna or one of those beds in my house. There was a gym down the street that had an infrared sauna and I started using it last year but a week after I started going the place folded. No one has taken it over and everytime I drive by I think "Sure wish I could have the sauna or at least a key to the place!"
I'm definitely going to check it out. Thanks so much.
And thanks for your comments about my posts too. I am a pretty positive person and I find motivating others motivates me. There are so many terrific people on this site and it really helps as I have no one to talk to about this protocol. If I just mentioned injections, they'd cart me off the loony bin. In the future, after I reach my goal, I will refer them to the book if they ask how I did it. I think people would have a hard time understanding this plan if it was taken out of context but if they read the book hopefully they'd be convinced. I can't wait till that day!!!!

BeeOrlando,
You are not alone! I, too felt like you, as I did not really know how to post! You can only imagine how I felt when Mama responded! As I go through the process, I only hope that I can encourage others, as I have been encourage.
Seemingly, I was thinking the exact thing about sharing this information. So much so, I didn't go home for Thanksgiving, because I knew the family would not understand the injections. I hated to miss, but I felt I had to do something for myself and I was not ready to deflect questions and comments. I even decided and switched to the 26 day protocol instead of the 43, in order to be on the no carbs and sugar during my seven days at home over the holidays. Once I return home, I should have another week before I can start the protocal again. My goal, 71 pounds.
FYI, this is my first time doing the Protocol too, but I am determined to make a difference in my life! You will jump for joy, as well!
On another note, Mama will you purchase your bed from the center you atttend now? My mother really needs one for her arthritus in the back and knee.
Queen
PS Instead of my mensus continuing to ease up after the three days off, once I satrted injecting the opposite happened! Go figure!

Queen,
I applaud you for skipping Thanksgiving - what a smart move! If I wasn't the hostess I would've skipped it to because I really wanted to stick to the plan. I also think it is good planning on your part to do the shorter protocol so you can have some things at xmas. My last day of the VLCD is two days before we leave for xmas. I'm so excited to see everyone because they saw me at my heaviest at Thanksgiving and if all goes according to plan this month I should be between 26 - 28 lbs lighter by xmas. My family is great but they are also skeptical that I'll ever reach my goal. Everytime I start a plan they kind of roll their eyes "here she goes again!" While I understand their skepticism, I tell them to imagine how big I'd be if I didn't keep trying? I've downplayed this plan on purpose so I can surprise them! I just tell them I'm going organic because it is healthier. Each day if I have a weak moment or my stomach is growling, I keep chanting my mantra "xmas, xmas."
Glad to have you here Queen! The more positive future HCG Hotties, the better!

Hello, Carla and Mama:
This is Queen checking in. So how are you both doing? By, now both should be at or near your goal.
Carla, have you lost the 28 pounds? Are you ready for Christmas. Thank you, for your response. As a result, I stayed on the shorter protocol and did the last injection on yesterday. I, too, will end on Saturday. I have lost 28 lbs. One would realize that I have lost weight, but they would not think 28 lbs. I hide it very well. Since I have 40 more pounds to go, I will start again in February.
Mama,
I found out the reason for stopping the injections during your menses, is because it makes you more fertile, and susceptible to pregnancy. Now, I know to continue injecting throughout. I am also now experiencing another menses. It feels a little strange going into a store to purchase perssonal products at 52, soon to be 53! Oh, well! At least I feel and look great while I'm doing it! (SMILES)
Carla and Mama, please enjoy your holidays!

Hello Queen & all, Thanks for asking for an update. (Sorry this is so long but I haven't posted in awhile and I'm feeling so grateful & reflective of this journey.) Big Mama is now little mama!!! I am just melting away -- some days my loss doesn't show until the afternoon -- but I just stay the course because I know my beloved HCG is doing its job even if the scale doesn't show it immediately. I have mini "stalls" for a day or two but its just my body doing its things and I've learned to just keep my food record, stay the course and then BAM I drop. Let me see I'm on day 40 and have lost 33+ lbs.-- I haven't weighed this am yet - took an hour walk at 6am-drinking my water & tea-I've learned to wait until my rings are loose to weigh in -- my numbers go down .6-1.8 if I wait most days. I feel great and am going to stay on for a bit longer -- (waiting for TOM) I've been doing 125 iu so I have 2 amps left. We'll see how long I go based on feeling great and no immunity. I made 10 different holiday cookie/bars/treats -- baked for 12 hours and then have been packaging beautiful tins/fancy boxes for the last 4 days and I haven't licked one chocolately finger :}!!!! I am so happy making all these goodies for everyone and just have been happy choosing to NOT eat any of them. You know, with the HCG in my system - It's not hard to choose well because I am NOT starving. This is so liberating!!!!!! I've always made excellent food choices and I just didn't deserve to be obese -- no pop, no cookies, no sweets, skinless chicken, losts of vegetables etc. I think going organic and cleansing & detoxing was very key for me. My system just couldn't process anything anymore. It was a vicious cycle. I just feel so free now -- I can enjoy my family, my life because I'm not always hungry and worried about what I am going to be able to eat. Tears are running down my face as I write this - I just feel so free and I'm not thinking about food at all -- well I'm thinking about all the goodies I'm lovingly packaging and delivering to everyone and how much they're going to love the 10 different things . . . but I don't feel deprived at all because I'm in charge, I'm choosing to not have those things now. I am resetting my hypothalmus and then will continue to make good "moderate" choices and be able to enjoy a bit of this and a bit of that. Without cravings and uncontrollable hunger!! I AM THE BOSS OF ME NOW!! The best thing is my beautiful girls get to see Mama- happy, full of energy, feeling good, looking better and making great food choices. That is the best present I could give myself or them. Moderation and balance and delayed gratification are truly GIFTS. Today HCG is helping me, in the future it will be my reset hypothalmus. I've never gone hog wild on food to start with so I'm not interesting in KT's claim that he can "eat everything and never gain weight" -- I just want to be eat balanced, moderate, healthy meals and not gain weight! Queen, I too still have a lot to lose at least 1 or 2 more rounds but I am looking/feeling so good--and every week getting back into something hanging in my closest. The biggest thrill was getting my wedding rings back on -- I love wearing my special pieces and they really help to remind me of water retention & when to weigh in. Seeing that all this is under the "menses" post I should add - I'm waiting for TOM have skipped 2 days this week thinking it would come -- definately don't want to end protocol during TOM or deal with TOM 1st week of P3 so It's probably good that I have 2 amps left as needed. With all the emotion that just poured out of me I think that TOM is close!!! Off I go to my mother in laws with my HCG injections, and a cooler full of pre-measured/bagged protocol food, tea, stevia, water jugs, etc. Planning is so important and I don't want to feel hungry. I just hope my miracle noodles arrive today!! Have a wonderful holiday, Little Mama
