Human chorionic gonadotropin or human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced in pregnancy that is made by the developing embryo after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast.
It is made by cells that form the placenta, which nourishes the egg after it has been fertilized and becomes attached to the uterine wall. Levels can first be detected by a blood test about 11 days after conception .

Human Chorionic Gonadotripin (hCG), which is a glycoprotein hormone produced during pregnancy.  It can be found in the urine of pregnant women when the hormone is at its highest levels.  hCG can be made synthetically or extracted for the urine of a pregnant women then processed for human use.  Typically, on the hCG diet protocol you will be prescribed synthetic hCG for use on the diet.  Cheesy
